Remember when Chris said that I would eventually either become tired of updating this site/ and or something would happen that would force me to stop updating. And my response to that statement was that I would never stop posting on this (insert word for amazing, ridiculously good, super, great, awesome, sweet, really really good, this side of outstanding) site. Well….Chris was right. But I’m back for the final update on this site. The team this year was made up of mainly seniors, all of which who are graduating ( I know I did not think protestants could graduate either but alas Micah says he got a diploma). Next year the team well be under the leadership of Hartman and Sheedy…consequentially the Canisius ultimate team will also meet it’s end next year. (in no way am I questioning the leadership qualities displayed by Hartman or Sheedy..im just saying that you know last years captain was micah…next years captain is going to be Hartman...one of these things is not like the other….) However, as sad as it is to bid this team a farewell, we went out with a bang. Here was a year:

 

Practice sessions started in march when the team was joined by our lady friends from Nardin. It was around this time that Micah supposingly became the “best player on the team.” And then, you know not to try and impress anyone, he would like fall on the ground and be all good in front of all of us…….*Cough* showoff *Cough*. (Anyone who doubt whether this last paragraph is true….well I have proof. Not that you shouldn’t just take my word for it, because I would day in least 10 – 15% of the stuff I say on here is true. But ummm did anyone else think it was a little odd that Micah had all the guys on the team to practice away from all the new girls. But he haddd to stay to teach them about the rules and how to play. Sure micah…I can see right through you.

 

We were joined by some new members this year. The girls of course, all of which who contributed. Allie supplied shorts to Kev in order that he would be able to properly compete with the small shorts kid. Jenna helped uncover the horrible person that is Micah McKay, after he violently gave her a bloody nose….all because she wanted disc…shame on you micah….shame on you.  Kelley was better than lets say 90% of the team, and decided that practice was beneath her because she showed up to like 2 practices. ( I could insert a joke here about micah and Kelly, but I am above the simple and crass humor) Caitlin one the sprit disk award in the spring grada league…just beating out chris, who we put into the running because he did not 1. verbally abuse anyone 2. actually abuse anyone 3. and all around kept his composure this year. And andi (spelled with an I not a y in case you did not know) has more points than anyone on the team, man was she fast. The girls also provided us whit one of the most enjoyable moments of the year.* There was a certain practice in which somehow Nolan found himself covering Caitlin. At some point during this highly unusual situation, someone threw the disk in the general area of Caitlin, and Caitlin caught this disk. As he walked back to the sideline, Nolan was greeted by a certain somebody ( I wont divulge names is this story, then again I already used nolans name..so I guess its okay so yeah it was fitz) who proceeded to a small dance routine and while doing that routine he spoke in an elegant manner something alone the lines of “you got beat by a girl” The sheer insult it is to have someone say You got beat by a girl is bad enough, but to have to it set to a catchy tune and add a very dare I say seductive dance..well Nolan was threatened to say the least. Nolan’s response to this was to spit in the face of that certain somebody (fitz). After replaying this event over and over in my mind I have come to the conclusion that the only appropriate thing for Nolan to do faced with those consequences was to spit fitz in the face.**

Also joining the team was mike leone, who proved that having the energy level of a four year old is vital to becoming successful at Frisbee. Mike was a valuable asset to the team and even wrote a scathing report on the injustice occurring in the administrative department of Canisius in regard to its treatment of the Frisbee team. It was never published because ft higgens most likely would have killed mike if it had been. We are not willing to take risks like that.

OK well we move on now to the Grada league. Last year we suffered a gut wrenching loss to the sugar daddies and came in second place. Not this year sukka. The disciples went undefeated in the league and beat out Mendon to take home first place. It was awesome. The whole team played great, all through out the season. Chris with his red hair and all continued to try and prove he was better that Micah. Shawncon played great even after some nights where he may or may not have tried to kook up with a fence. Kevin sommers played good, but much better when he was wearing short shorts. Sean okeefe, jake, had the deep covered to perfection. Dan was awesome, he even got scabies and showed everyone…best-part-of-the-season. Chirs hamm was…well chirs hamm, I think he won most improved im not sure i spaced in and out of the awards ceremony, it was hot out. Greg Vukelic was great. Drew linstrom was stupendous, with as many gratuitous dives and such. Fitz was his usual muse esque self and came up with one of the best cheers ever ( your name is sotaaaa, it rhymes with sodaaaa, and lolaaaa) Nolan spit in some ones face. And finally micah did his best to try and play with some skill. he did all right.

Ok I did not go to states, there was mix up apparently im going to college, either way I blame the entire thing on Micah. However we did pretty good there two, we came in third out of a lot of teams, and I don’t want to say Mendon and the sugar daddies cheated, but they cheated. So we’ll just say we came in second place.

 

Well that is about it, we had a great time over these last few years and I know I was glad to be a part of the Canisius Ultimate Frisbee team. ***

*I am sorry Nolan but I was pretty sure that there was a 75% chance no one would ever read this, if you did read this then I suppose I was wrong.

** Interesting side note on this story. It was my general opinion that covering a girl was a plain mistake. Not that men are in any way superior to the opposite sex, it is simply that my self esteem could not handle being “beat” by a girl. And since I played with the girls on our team for quite some time I knew me being “beat” by one of them was going to happen because elts face it, they were all better than me. So in order to avoid the ridicule that was surly to be placed on me after getting beat by a girl by the overly masculine “O look at me I lift weights” society, I simply faked a leg break or simply refused to cover a girl. Consequentially I never had to spit in anyone’s face.

***I forgot Dave. Dave was/will always be the most important member on the team. I have no words to describe the contribution he made to this team over the last few years. So I will just leave blank space and assume everyone still reading this(lets face it no one is still reading) takes a moment of silence in daves honor.

Practice starts this week, monday thru Firday from 3- 430 (maybee 5) it will be held every day at the prebs. church locacted on elmwood and lafyette ( loaves and fishes), there is parking across the street. basic stuff, throwing and catching and all that good stuff. funny how chs wont give us usage of thier gym, i guess the administration feels like the baseball and lacross teams need it more. when will they learn

....MIcah informed today that the frisbee team will be auctioning off the very original Spiked Tantrum CHS Frisbee T-Shirt. Bidding starts at 8$, its a large......i think im gona start this baby off and bid 15, cuz lets face it...its worth it

 

also, does anyone want to be offical profreader of thie here site, cuz i dont do that and apparanlty my speeling/typing is lacking

I used to be a member of UPA, then they sent me a letter asking for more money. i was like F U, upa no way im giving u more money. so they kept sending me mail and i just refused to open up. Recenlty i opended it and found out that had suspended my memberhsip, which is odd cuz i dont kno how they could do that such a integral member such as myslef. so anyways i threw out the forms in disgust. next day micah says i could have kept those forms and renwewed my mebership that way. well UPA i have notihng to say to you....except touche, u win this round

....meeting cuz we have so much to talk about...merhcandise ( y me and dan havent started the sweatpant thing), states ( and y dan cant go cuz hes planning a trip to europe), easterns ( y dan cant go cuz he has to study for exams), pracitces ( y dan cant go cuz he *) and other stuff as well

1. Coach is encourgaing us all to become UPA members cuz it will make it easier for us in states, heres the link

It looks pretty good that we will be able to host States on June 12-13th
at the Darrow School in Central NY. We're working out all the details, but
we're planning a two-day tourney with teams being able to stay at the
dorms at the school.

Darrow is about 26 miles east of Albany and apparanlty a short drive from New York and Boston, nethier of which we live in so its gonna be quite a nice little drive.

There will be a meting Friday for all members of the frisbee team, in 2w4 at 241. (i went there Micah) Well be discussing merchandise as in the new t-shirts and other stuff like that.

 

Me and barret created a new top 10 list, i also made up a shot hstory for our team. (while we are on the subject of that history, i implore u micah not to get angry at me cuz we all kno that u are the tru leader on the team, however everyone who does not kno u, well then i think the histroy will be a little more enjoyable...see we all win) also i added a  guide to playing frisbee cuz lets face it, it never hurts to brush up on the rules

ok well so far we (micah) have been throwing around a bunch of ideas for merchandise for our up coming frisbee season. So far we've got actual jerseys, the new tshirts (we sent an email about these) sweat pants, heand bands/ arm bands, chs ultimte disks perhaps,,, so far we are in the developmental stages so if you have any ideas talk to us ( when i say us i mean micah)

 

also we are looking to have a night frisbee game in a dome somehwere so get back to us if u dig that idea

Word on the street (and when I say street I mean he actually told me this) is that Mike Leone is writing a letter/newspaper article on CHS Ultimate’s plight for recognition and Funding. It’s not for sure, but there is already an outline done. Also we may or may not have gotten er clearance to write this from The Dude (that’s Micah for all you non knowers of nicknames…. By the way is there anyone not on the Frisbee team reading these…. Cuz if there isn’t I am wasting a lot of time….hmm), but I am utterly confident he would give us permission. Give Mike or Me suggestions or thoughts on the article.

 

 

 

 

 

 12/8/04 -  If there are any JV players checking out the website (which there should be because this site is so ridiculously cool) keep checking back here for updates, as in possible meetings. Also be prepared to spend, because we will probably be buying some wicked awesome stuff this year, including shirts, sweat pants, and discs. OK this post was a little Gratuitous, but I’m still on a power trip of being in control, anyone want to take bids on how long Micah will let me have the password. I'd say a day.
